Michelle Ellis is an Adelaide based contemporary artist. Known for her works of colour and her courage to explore various genres, she creates original pieces of work that visually incite energy and emotion.
Visually, the composition of Michelle’s artwork is pleasing to the eye as it takes you on a journey within the painting to discover hidden tones and shapes.
Michelle has no formal training, however for the past seven years she has been a member of Splashout Art Studio. Here she attends weekly classes while experimenting with oils, acrylics and studying various artists and their techniques.
Michelle has found that her formal graphic design training and a lengthy career in hairdressing is integral to her artwork.
To quote Pablo Picasso “I begin with an idea and then it becomes something else.” Michelle lets the painting speak to her and the journey of creativity begins.
