ARTIST BIO

ARTIST BIO

Olivia is a Swedish-born Australian artist, who's passion for creating art emerged from her desire to rediscover joy after being chronically unwell.

Olivia's work bursts with colour and energy. It's vibrant and jovial, and expresses a sense of joy and cheekiness. It reflects her true nature, as she wants to be seen, without limitations.

She also makes emotive, darker pieces with rich colours, and fast brush and finger strokes that tap into whatever she's feeling at the time.

Whether fun and happy or dark and emotive, colour always plays a central role in her work. She hopes her work will encourage others to bring colour and art into their lives, as a way of enhancing their own well-being, as they are a simple yet powerful way of lifting and shifting the energy of any environment.

Olivia creates predominantly acrylic and mixed media abstract pieces, as well as some sculptural work, though she is also an avid portrait photographer. Her portraits often combine photography and art, as she uses her abstract paintings in the background of the portraits to give them a sense of vibrancy.

Olivia had her first solo exhibition, 'Colour: More is More' in 2017. She's been featured in The Advertiser, and has exhibited extensively locally, including participating in various SALA exhibitions, such as In Search Of The Divine Gallery, The Secret Art of Life Exhibition, Silent Partner Productions, Red Opus Gallery, Fanny Adam’s Vintage, and BIMBO Norwood.
